Tom White for Bristol Plymouth Regional School Committee

My name is Thomas S. White and I am running for a seat on the Bristol Plymouth Regional School Committee. I have been a resident of Middleboro for almost 30 years. I volunteered to serve in the United States Army as a Military Policeman. When I returned to civilian life I found my way working with my hands. After 15 years working at Ocean Spray my position as a mechanic was downsized.

I decided to further my education and I received my Massachusetts Journeyman Electrical License. I am now a proud member of IBEW LOCAL 103. My most recent accomplishment is my appointment to the Middleborough Housing Authority. I have spent many hours giving back to a country that has given me so much opportunity. Through a volunteer project in conjunction with my union IBEW Local 103, I was able to go to Haiti and assist in the building of a brand new, 300 hundred bed, state of the art hospital.

This spring I gave my time to The Burt Wood School of Performing Arts. I helped to build the set and performed in the play The Diary of Anne Frank. We also moved this show to the Nichols Middle school to share this educational story with the student body.

I believe my military service, my career as a tradesman, my experience as an elected union steward (protecting workers and their families, including helping to negotiate fair contracts) my volunteer service and my experience in the arts with children of all ages, makes me a strong candidate for the Bristol Plymouth Regional School Committee and directly connects me to the needs of the students.

I humbly ask for you vote on November 6.
