A lecture by UMASS Boston Professor Paul Watanabe

Traumatic
experiences often prompt responses that challenge the duty to protect
civil liberties. The delicate balance between legitimate national
security interests and the preservation of those liberties will be
addressed Watanabe will draw upon his extensive knowledge of the WW II
internment to analyze the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks and the recent
bombings in Boston.
