Register Now--PDM Annual Issues Forum

Please join Progressive Democrats of MA (PDM) at our one-day issues forum on Saturday, March 19. The forum will be held at Rose Hall, Brennan Library Lasell College (80A Maple St, Auburndale, MA 02466), and will run from 9 AM to 3 PM.

The forum will include two plenary sessions, each focused on one of our priority issues:

  • The morning session will address climate change and related state-level policy issues.
  • The afternoon session will address state education policies, from early childhood through K-12 to post-secondary.
Each of the plenary sessions will include a brief presentation of essential information about the topic and key current policy issues; an exploration of how progressives can most effectively frame and steer the debate around these policy choices; and a discussion of key action steps that PDM and our allies can undertake to advance our agenda. We are lining up an exciting team of knowledgeable and engaging speakers to stimulate our discussions of these topics.

In between the two plenary sessions, we will be organizing a Key Issues Speed Dating segment. For this portion of the forum, we will invite you to select from a series of 15-minute discussions (and a longer lunchtime segment) addressing a variety of issues and strategies and ways to become further involved with them.

The list of Speed Dating topics is still under development but some topics we plan to include are:

  • Campaign Finance Reform
  • Workers’ Rights issues (esp. the Fight for $15 and Paid Family Medical Leave)
  • Affordable Housing
  • Criminal Justice/Prison reform
  • Key upcoming legislative races
  • Effective use of social media
Lunch will be served. A suggested contribution of $20 will help cover forum costs (but it's not required). Register now at the PDM website

We are anticipating an exciting, engaging, and action-oriented day. We look forward to seeing you there.
