Urgent: Call Your State Rep
The MCAN Organization rejects the politics of EXCLUSION and HATE in the Executive Orders signed by the President yesterday. In response, we will be holding a Press Conference on January 31st:
Where: St Paul's Episcopal Cathedral
WHEN: (Gather by 9:30) 10am on Tues morning
WHAT: We see GOD IN EVERY HUMAN BEING.
We are Muslims.
We are immigrants.
WE WILL STAND TOGETHER and WE WILL LOVE EACH OTHER.
Fortunately, there is new state legislation that would protect all state residents by ensuring that state resources are not used to help the Trump administration deport immigrants and create a Muslim registry.
THIS IS WHAT YOU CAN DO!!
We are asking you to call your state representative at (617) 722-2000 to ask them to co-sponsor this legislation before the Feb 3rd deadline. To find your legislators, you can click here.
Good morning/afternoon. My name is __________. I’m a constituent of Senator/Representative [name] and I live in____________. I’m calling to ask Senator/Representative [name] to cosponsor the Safe Communities Act, sponsored by Senator Jamie Eldridge (SD.1596) and Representative Juana Matías (HD.3052). This bill would protect the civil rights of all state residents by making sure our tax dollars are not used to help the Trump administration deport immigrants and create a Muslim registry.
The leadership and action in Massachusetts have always helped shape the nation’s consciousness on civil rights. When should I check back to see if he / she would co-sponsor Bills: SD. 1596 & HD. 3052
