Meet John Bradley, Candidate for District Attorney

Meet John Bradley, Candidate for

Plymouth County District Attorney

6:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 1st
Brockton West Branch Library
540 Forest Ave., Brockton

Help fix our broken criminal justice system!
Help end the current system of mass incarceration!
Help make our criminal justice system fair instead of targeting the poor, people of color and those with substance abuse!

  • John believes we have been locking up too many people for too little for too long. He is committed to focus on serious crime rather than filling our prisons with low-level, non-violent offenders.
  • John supports diversion programs for substance abusers and believes incarceration is only appropriate for higher level drug offenders. States that allow people to participate in recovery programs as an alternative to prison have reduced the numbers of people who commit crimes and return to prison.
  • He wants to virtually eliminate the cash bail system. He doesn't believe in pre-trial detention unless the person is a flight risk or danger to society.
  • He wants to focus on gun violence and getting illegally possessed guns off the street.
  • He wants taxpayer dollars to be used wisely instead of incarcerating low-level drug offenders who need treatment, not imprisonment at the cost of $50,000/year.
  • He would like to see more of the funds obtained through civil forfeiture diverted to the community for drug treatment programs. This is a way we can increase investments in drug treatment without going to the taxpayer.
